If you are new in the game and are amazed by all the ships, planes and carriers, pay attention to this post so you can learn how to win a battle even against stronger players than you.
If you are like me and you skipped the tutorial and went straight to the game, well, then maybe you missed the more basic rule in the game, which is knowing your ship strengths and weaknesses.
As you might have seen, there are many ships in the Ship Yard, basically we have 3 kinds: Frigates, Destroyers and Submarines.

In real life Destroyers are beasts, the firepower they have is amazing. Don't underestimate them because of their little cannons, their real power resides in the missiles they can carry. In the game they are not so powerful however the higher the Tier the stronger the ship.
Destroyers are strong against Frigates but weak against Submarines.
Frigates are strong against Submarines but weak against Destroyers.
Submarines are strong against Destroyers but weak against Frigates.

Scouting an enemy before attacking him is very important. That way you will know whats inside his base or carrier and send the best ship to win the battle. In my experience, I have survived attacks from more than 3 levels above me because of my ships, so always pay attention to the ships of your enemy.
