Destroyers
Destroyers are one of the largest warships available nowadays, they have a
very impressive fire power which includes: artillery guns, anti air missiles,
torpedos and missiles cells which can carry even nuclear missiles. They can
destroy almost anything, that's why their name.
In the game, destroyers are not that strong, also they are weak against
submarines but strong against frigates.
Pros:
- Excellent frigates hunter.
- Great firepower.
- More durability than other ships.
- The best storage capacity among other ships.
- Good for farming armada bases.
Cons:
- Slow ships.
- Weak against submarines.
- Slow for farming resources tiles.
Destroyers Available:
Sovremenny Class
Tier III Ship. Soviet designation Project 956 Sarych (buzzard), is a class
of anti-ship and anti-aircraft guided missile destroyers of the Soviet and
later Russian Navy. The ships are named after qualities, with "Sovremenny"
translating as "modern" or "contemporary". Most of the ships have been
retired from active service and one converted into a museum ship in 2018,
but several remain in commission with the Russian Navy.
Ticonderoga Class
Tier VI Ship is a class of warships in the United States Navy, first ordered
and authorized in the 1978 fiscal year. The class uses passive phased-array
radar and was originally planned as a class of destroyers. However, the
increased combat capability offered by the Aegis Combat System and the
AN/SPY-1 radar system, together with the capability of operating as a
flagship, were used to justify the change of the classification from DDG
(guided missile destroyer) to CG (guided-missile cruiser) shortly before the
keels were laid down for Ticonderoga and Yorktown. 27 of these destroyers were
built between 1980 and 1994 and there are still 22 in service.
Arleigh Burke Class
Tier IX ships, is a United States Navy class of destroyer built
around the Aegis Combat System and the SPY-1D multifunction passive
electronically scanned array radar. The class is named for Admiral Arleigh
Burke, an American destroyer officer in World War II, and later Chief of Naval
Operations. The lead ship, USS Arleigh Burke, was commissioned during Admiral
Burke's lifetime.
These warships were designed as multimission destroyers, able to fulfill the
strategic land strike role with Tomahawk missiles; antiaircraft warfare (AAW)
role with powerful Aegis radar and surface-to-air missiles; antisubmarine
warfare (ASW) with towed sonar array, anti-submarine rockets, and ASW
helicopter; and antisurface warfare (ASuW) with Harpoon missile launcher.
67 Burkes were made since 1988 until the present, they are all still in
service.
Daring Class
Tier X destroyer, The Type 45 destroyer, also known as the D or Daring
class, is a class of six guided missile destroyers built for the United
Kingdom's Royal Navy. The class is primarily designed for anti-aircraft and
anti-missile warfare and is built around the PAAMS (Sea Viper) air-defence
system utilizing the SAMPSON AESA and the S1850M long-range radars. The first
three destroyers were assembled by BAE Systems Surface Fleet Solutions from
partially prefabricated "blocks" built at different shipyards; the remaining
three were built by BAE Systems Maritime – Naval Ships. The first ship in the
Daring class, HMS Daring, was launched on 1 February 2006 and commissioned on
23 July 2009. A total of 6 Daring Destroyers were build and are still in
service.
Zumwalt Class
Tier XIII destroyer, The Zumwalt-class destroyer is a class of three United
States Navy guided missile destroyers designed as multi-mission stealth ships
with a focus on land attack. It is a multi-role class that was designed for
secondary roles of surface warfare and anti-aircraft warfare and originally
designed with a primary role of naval gunfire support. It was intended to take
the place of battleships in meeting a congressional mandate for naval fire
support.
The ship is designed around its two Advanced Gun Systems, their turrets and
magazines, and unique Long Range Land Attack Projectile (LRLAP) ammunition.
LRLAP procurement was cancelled, rendering the guns unusable, so the Navy
re-purposed the ships for surface warfare. Procurement was halted after the
first three Zumwalts, and the navy reverted to building Arleigh Burke
destroyers. A National Review article by Mike Fredenburg calls the Zumwalts
"an unmitigated disaster". The class design emerged from the DD-21 "land
attack destroyer" program as "DD(X)".
